Half a century down the tracks since the advent of Bam Balam, Brian Hogg has published LOW YO YO STUFF, his angle on a thousand 45s. This has come about almost accidentally but be damn glad that it did.

BB was an influence on so many of we of a certain age. The portal between beat, pop and punk. There would very possibly be no Jon Savage without it and Mark P has also cited the publication’s importance.

Get your YO YO on.

RIP JD KING

Farewell to stellar illustrator, story teller and geezer, JD King. Marc Baines informed me of his exit. JD never got his due, his work was unsurpassed in my opinion. The honour of his NBT covers and his friendship over the miles and decades make this news somewhat difficult to digest. His concept of Like A 45 at 33 should be resurrected in tribute. The search is on for the tapes. My condolences to his friends, family and fellow enthusiasts.

Just found out about this via Joly MacFie. I'd knew for 40+ years. Think the last time I saw him and Saaya was when I was down "The London" for The Stooges/Suicide shows. They had just made the Iggy jacket repro available. I had no idea he had health issues. We had some adventures in those LOTC years and beyond. Condolences to Sayaa, his friends and family.

I'm going to keep it going for now but I'm already peeved with the Interweb to the extent that it wouldn't take much for me to pull the plug. Talking about this yesterday, I don't want to saddle anybody with this or any other aspect of my digital footprint so I'll be taking steps (boom boom!) to facilitate any such lights going out when mine do.
