A pale shadow of the real thing. I used to work in an office in the Scala building and we had free access to the cinema. For a couple of years I used to take in 3-4 triple bills a week. You'd be watching some giallo on an all-night horror bill and all of a sudden one of the two Scala cats (Orson and Huston) would drop into your lap and scare the living hell out of you.

It's an attempt at keeping the spirit of what the place stood for alive. I liked the idea of the programme following the format of the old fold-out. In these days when we can see virtually anything in our own space, it's cool that there are people out there who want to try these things.

True - I wasn't knocking it! Did you know someone DIED in the Scala once? Monday nights were always "erotic film night". Mostly guys and mostly alone. One Monday night they came to close up and found some bloke dead from a heart attack in his seat. It had all been too much.

PS: Let me know if you want help altering the site.

See that kind of thing couldn't happen with the advent of health and safety and all that other bollocks that goes on these days. Cheers Simon, sent you a message via fb.
