Who'da thunk it? A major refurb of the Bo'ness Hippodrome is on the cards to transform it into an "arts" venue. The former La Fabrique will undergo a major transformation so watch this space for the full skinny. It's a cracking building and it's not gonna be a Starbuck's. How 'bout that?

Very good news Lindsey. It's a building that's always been dear to my heart. I'm glad it's not just going to be allowed to fall down.

My relatives in Bo'ness always described La Fabrique as a "den of iniquity" (was it really that good??!!), Dave Smythe the original Rezillos bass player told me 3 years ago that he thought the band played there in early 77 and, to top it all, I found out from a distant cousin 2 weeks ago that my grandmother (Meg Beecroft) was the pianist at the Hippodrome who accompanied the silent films pre WW1! Keep me updated on how the renovation goes.
